tap out baby......

a while ago a friend commented on facebook..... and the comment went like this...

"You know you are at Club Shakes when even the girls are wearing Tapout shirts".

Naturally I just thought this particular gentleman had simply gone out on a quiet or cold night..... because The Shakes Girls are Hot! But it made me think.....

I am a single lady and I go to ladies night every Thursday, even if its just for an hour... And unlike most of the girls on a Thursday night, I prefer to go in jeans. I never used to.. I always wore a short, seductive little number and then danced awkwardly to maintain my modesty to attract some sort of muscle and Mohawk kind of man. But then it occurred to me....
The easiest way to draw attention to yourself is by looking different...Its the basic concept of creating yourself as "the other". This allowed me to dance freely and helped to avoid.... the very big, very drunk guy who throws his arm around your shoulder and says "hey baby.....I play E.P rugby".
And from this point on.......I abandoned the slutdress for ladies night.

My philosophy on this is simple.....

Why would you want a man that picks you out of a group of dresses instead of a man who finds you irresistible for no other reason than simply because you are YOU.

I think...... that a man that needs satin and ribbons to titillate his senses should simply TAPOUT... because he is in the wrong weight division.....

Thank You's

I had the worst luck through the whole competition process and was almost sure that I was not going to win. But my friends were confident and steered me along while I nervously waited.....As they said my name I remember looking at my friends and the smiles on their faces. I must say a very BIG thank you to Justin Murrell who co-ordinated the whole Jaguar photo shoot at Eastcape Motors, my photographer JP Bodenhorst and to the guys at Club Shakes for their patience and understanding.

I am proud to be The Face of Shakes 2012.

The Face of Shakes Photo Competition

When I entered this competition I had a good think as to why I would want win and more importantly what I would want to do with this title. This is what I wrote along with my photos.

I have decided to enter for the Lady of Shakes titled  because to me it will be the symbolic representation of what it means to be a woman in her twenties. The title symbolises beauty, strength, intelligence and what it means to be ‘a ultimate woman’ in this competitive ‘dog-eat-dog” and essentially masculine world. We are the women that young girls look up to with envy and adoration, all the while thinking about the 'women' that they one day want to be. I want to be the bench mark to these  girls of what they can achieve as strong women and to my friends of this time in our lives. It will be a remembrance of strength and of the result of the powerful combination of beauty and brains.
After all.....we are the women.... that the songs you play.... were created for.
